Talking EA degree

I had intended to post this sooner, but after Lodge last night, I was too beat to do so.

It was the first time for our new line officers to put one on.
I did the first part with the exceptions of the TGL lecture and the apron presentation.

Our current WM did the Q&A and the third section lecture and charge was given by a Br from a neighboring lodge.

After we were completed, our instructor (WB Al Heslop,a 50+ year member who does all the work from memory) Congratulated us on an excellent production.
He told us that it was the best that he had seen in a decade.

We now have six weeks top prepare for the FC in which we will be combining with another lodge (Hobasco/Fidelity of Ithaca NY) And passing their EAs too. Our SW is going to be doing the OB.

Good luck Brother!
I am scheduled to give the FC Q&A along with one of my newly raised Brothers next month but got a call last night to stand in at practice in 1 hr for the Q&A for the EA degree scheduled this wednesday!
I rushed over and did the best I could off the top of my head with the expectation that I'll be "readier" by wednesday.

It's surprising that after having done this, when we did our first practice, I was better prepared than our SW who is tasked with doing the OB. He has known for months that he was to do it and has not even practiced alone. He could barely read it.

I do however expect him to be better prepared at the next practice session.

We recently had to pull together a funeral for a brother. The gentleman who did the work did ALL the talking. He said he memorized all the parts because it was just too important to leave for someone else to screw up. It was the most impressive presentation I have ever seen.
